het is nu 23 dagen geleden dat ik voor het eerst, life, Aranis kon ervaren bij ons in Portugal...Ik was gewoon sprakeloos na hun optreden.En eigenlijk gaat er geen dag voorbij of ik heb Aranis in gedachte.De cd's zijn al veel gedraaid..tussen de merels en de roodstaarten door zindert de muziek hier over onze vallei..ik heb maar één wens..dat iedereen( ook hier, de Belgische gemeenschap) Aranis leert kennen.Het was wel jammer dat het concert in Gouveia op enkele weken was uitverkocht. Laat ons hopen dat ze over een korte periode weer worden uitgenodigd en dan zit Vlaanderen op de eerste rij in de concertzaal, daar zorg ik voor.Lieve mensen, ik dank jullie zo hard dat het pijn doet..maar dat is dan het gemis dat je voelt..

Dear members of Aranis,
So soon you left Gouveia, so many great memories you left to all of us. Again.
If there's something that makes me proud of helping to organize this small venture called Gouveia Art Rock fest it must have to do with projects like Aranis. Like in 2008, when you took everyone by surprise, now a grown up Aranis performed yet another astonishing show, filled with subtlety, boldness, intimacy, cumplicity and that soft complexity that makes for that extra fun that is the "Aranis listening experience". Enjoyed all your new stuff as presented live, and the addition of Pierre on piano and Dave on percussion (actually in Aranis it's much more about percussion than his "more normal" drumming) seems no addition at all, as it fits perfectly the music. Time to have some rest and make a wish for your return. Because unlike the news say, Portugal DID NOT surrender to the IMF. But it will always sweetly surrender to Aranis!! :)

Funny thing friendship!
Always expect the unexpected, always be prepared to give a little more of yourself, always... FRIENDS!
Last Saturday things went out just like are supposed to be amongst friends. All of you granted me (and everyone else I guess) the most remarkable moment of my musical life. Jori's determination and humble proudness, Jana's elegance and grace, Marjolein's sweetness (brown sugar), Stijn's focus and courtesy, Pierre's remarkable hands on the keys (I think I already saw him somewhere?), Liesbeth whose eyes and violin bow say more then her lips (you really don't talk much do you?) and finally but not least Dave's joy, spontaneity and egg (I think it wasn't a Chinese egg in spite of the chopsticks)
All of you gave the audience a remarkable and unquestionable new musical experience. By my side was sited a Portuguese Maestro and he was absolutely astonished with the extremely well balanced complexity of your work. "How do they manage to keep it all together? Such complicity. Amazing!"
I owe you a humble and heartfelt thank you. You all do know why!
To end I only would like to say to those who might read these words that in spite Aranis project is unquestionably remarkable all of you have one other project that should be explored without delay. I'm talking about BASta!, Joris Vanvinckenroye solo project. Can you image something so overwhelming that you aren't able to avoid tears running down your face? That happened to me and to other spectators, some of them where professional musicians. This sums up the quality of my dearest friend's performance on stage. Such passion, energy, determination, love, and commitment. BRAVO!
My friends, live up to the promise. Your work is definitely growing better and better.
I don't like the word fan and I won't use it with you, so...
I already miss you all.
I would also like to present my most humble apologies regarding the fact of not saying goodbye to everyone, but I tried to find you after the gigs without luck.
